Lahore, a city of Pakistan is full of history, architecture and specially FOOD! People of Lahore are fond of spicy food. The vibes present here can be found nowhere else.
The friendly atmosphere gives you a home like feeling. In order to define Lahore this article is not enough but I can mention a few must things to do when visiting Lahore which should not be missed at any cost. A famous saying used by Lahoris to describe their city is "LAHORE LAHORE AY!
1. Bhag-e-Jinnah
A fresh morning in Lahore can be made more refresh by visiting the Lawrence Garden which is also known as Bhag-e-Jinnah. It is a historical park containing botanical garden, Masjid Dar-ul-Islam and Quid-e-Azam library. Besides, there are also sport facilities which can allow you to start your morning healthy and fresh. If not more, a jog in the garden might do the task.
2. Badshahi Mosque
After enjoying the fresh and chilly air of morning and having Halwa Puri with a cup of tea in breakfast, badshahi mosque is the best place to start your day from. Lahore's most iconic landmark which is a best example of Mughal architecture has become one of the Pakistan's iconic sight. Its interior and exterior, both can inspire you with its charm and elegance. Any history or architecture lover will adore this place but it is also not less attractive for other visitors. No one can miss the chance to admire the beauty of this place.
3. Minar-e-Pakistan
The combination of Mughal/Islamic architecture and modern architecture is a national monument located in Lahore. The simple but amazing structure of the tower attracts people so much that now a tour is incomplete without visiting this place. The minaret provides a panaromic view to visitors who cannot climb up the stairs or access the top, by means of an elevator. The parks around the monument include marble fountains and artificial lake.
4. Shahi Bhetak
Come back from Lahore without spicing up your taste buds?... Never! Lahore is the city of spiciest food. Although there are a lot of things to taste but paye are must to try. Paye are the trotters of cow, goat, buffalo or sheep, cooked with various spices and herbs, served with naan.
Shahi Bhetak is the best place to try this yummiest dish which is located at Akbari Mandi. The aroma of this dish waters your mouth and after eating it you might crave for more and more.
5. Wagah Border
What next? A parade at Wagah Border! Sounds exciting, right? Yeah, it is exciting. At Wagah Border, the two neighbouring countries gather and show their full spirit with sound of their applause and hooting. A parade takes place along with the lowering of flags. National anthems and national songs get played and people cheer with full spirits. This musical and patriotic evening takes away all the stress of the day leaving our moods fresh and delighted.
6. Joyland
Besides history and architecture, there are also loud and joyful nights to see in Lahore. The nights here are full of fun and entertaining activities. To enjoy the night, Joyland is the best place to visit. It is an amusement park captivating a lot of thrills and fun in it. The thrilling rides can give you goosebumps as well as an entertaining time. The night becomes joyful in Joyland.
There is a lot more to explore in Lahore but these were the some of the important things to do. These things are for which Lahore is known. Lahore is a must visit place. Our elders usually say this " He has got no life who has not visited Lahore!"
